How collision shops refer total-loss customers
Permitted handoff language, no referral payments, and a text-a-link flow that keeps shops out of adjusting.
The handoff that converts
An automated text from an unknown company hours after a wreck reads as unsolicited marketing. A service writer the customer has been talking to for two weeks saying there is a free check is a trusted handoff.
Printed script
Use this language — do not improvise advice on a specific report:
Since your car's a total loss, the insurance company sends you a valuation report with their number on it. There's a free service that checks whether they got it right. Takes a couple minutes, no cost to look. Here's the link.
What we never do
We do not pay for referrals. Compensating a shop to steer total-loss customers into public adjusting work exposes the referral source, not just Reclaim.
Keep the shop out of the claim
Enter a phone number on the text-a-link page (when live). Reclaim sends the message under Reclaim's name. Your involvement ends at the number or the card.
FAQ
- Do you pay shops for referrals?
- We do not pay for referrals. No per-referral payments, gift cards, or marketing stipends tied to volume.
- Can my service writer review the customer's valuation?
- No. Shops may hand over a link or card and use the printed script. They may not opine on a specific offer or handle the claim.
